![]() ![]() Right now it's only there in the chat list, but not in the message list nor in the settings pages. I'm using an ASUS laptop running Windows 10 22H2, with a Microsoft's Precision Touchpad compatible touchpad, all relevant settings are system default.Īlso as I mentioned above, the "overscroll" effect should be implemented consistently throughout the app. ![]() The scrolling speed in the Settings pages might also be slow. (Apparently this page is now a bit longer after this comment is added, but I can still almost scroll from top to bottom with a single swipe - anyway you get the point.) If we want to compare the scrolling speed with a modern browser that uses the same API, take the current GitHub issue page for example, again on a 1080p monitor, 100% DPI scaling, with latest FireFox, window maximized, a single swipe with inertia can easily get me from top to bottom or vice versa, which also feels nice and fast to me. A single fast swipe with inertia can only scroll over about 20 messages (text only, 2-3 lines each), and the distance scrolled with a single fast swipe without inertia is even less than a single press of PageUp/PageDown, much slower than before (prior 4.8.5). On the contrary, the scrolling in the message list (the right panel), feels much slower. Sometimes when I want to have more control, I swipe as fast as I can without lifting my fingers, to prevent the inertia scrolling. individuals, groups and channels in the list, and on a 1080p monitor, 100% DPI scaling, with Telegram window maximized, a single very fast swipe can get me from the top almost to the bottom, that is, pretty fast.īy a "very fast swipe" here, I mean swiping as fast as one can with two fingers on the touchpad, and lift the fingers off the touchpad, such that the inertia would make it scroll further for 2-3 seconds. To me, the scrolling feels fine in the chat list (the left panel). I can see that it can be tricky to describe the feel of scrolling with just words, but let's try and see. It feels really quick by touchpad on XPS, I wonder what should be done differently. It feels fine for me on Dell XPS laptop, so I guess some parameters should be optimized. A new API is used for scrolling starting with 4.8.5, the same Google Chrome and Firefox use. ![]()
